May you grow bountiful cities of your dreams, and be a prosperous mayor!Īnother week, another map! This week let's take a trip to California's Central Coast and the Monterey Bay Area. If you don't wish to use either of these files, then leave it on default, and you can modify the map to however you'd like. Then, select 'Config.bmp' and click on the '.' button, to grab the appropriate configuration file. It's best if you keep this in an easy to access folder, such as your Downloads, or Region folder. Use SC4Mapper, then select 'Create Region', then click on '16 bit png'Īfter, hit the '.' next to 'Filename', and search for the image. Select which configuration image you wish to use, and edit it to: Sadly, I'm not so skilled in terrain/heightmap editing to be able to correct this for you, but, do feel free to adjust it to your heart's content. This may annoy some, as you might like having the really tall mountains, but, may make others happy. So, for those wishing to have more room in the original region, this one's for you.Īn unfortunate side effect to the doubling, however, is that the hills and mountains become stretched out, and thus a bit smoother overall. The doubled size allows for considerably bigger cities and more development within the same region as before. This was originally reversed via the SC4Mapper by exporting the file image, and then doubling the image size to achieve a bigger region. This is the default Maxisland Region scaled up 2x. Have fun building the city maps up to what you want them to be and remember that if you think the region's name is stupid or you want to call the region something else, you can go into the config.ini file and write it where it says Hearts and rename the folder to the same name. YES, it's hearts! It is a tribute to those who created the "Land designer" program which can be downloaded here on the Simtropolis website. I could have chosen that the entire center was only large (blue) city cards or only medium (green) or even small (red), but I chose a mixture as it makes the most sense when building the cities. This is again made on the largest card format that can be used (4097x4097 "and not as I wrote earlier in the other uploads 4095x4095") I looked this time for what it was "laughing". Thank you very much for your downloads of my modest regional maps. Get creative and build communities that bend the gender binary.Because you are so nice to download my regional maps, I have chosen to upload one last one this weekend. Male and Female Regions: The male and female region maps are based on the male and female gender symbols, but you don't have to make sex-segregated cities.Released in 2003, this map has thousands of downloads to its credit and is highly ranked by users. Reykjavik Region: The Reykjavik region depicts the capital city of Iceland. It is a recreation of real-world islands in the Pacific Ring of Fire. Nihon, Japan Region: The Nihon, Japan region for SimCity 4 is a fan favorite and highly rated downloadable region. The map is completely flat, so it is ready for heavy development. Boston Region: The Boston region for SimCity 4 is a 1:1 scale map of the greater Boston area in Massachusetts. The map is basically a blank canvas, perfect for creating your own community from scratch. Rina's Ridiculous Rivers: Rina's Ridiculous Rivers region has water, water everywhere, but there are also rolling hills with pre-flattened terraces perfect for building. There is an agricultural area in the north and a bay in the south where Sims can take a cruise or visit remote islands by ferry. A single hydrogen plant powers all three cities. Maxisland Region: The Maxisland region is a fully developed metropolis with three medium-sized cities that are home to an art museum, a casino, a courthouse, and 1.3 million sims.
